About
![]() ~ WRITING PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS ~ At its core, Writing Photography workshops encourage children and adults to explore their world as they photograph scenes from their own lives that serve as a catalyst for verbal and written expression. We live in a world that is dominated by visual images and the written word. It is important to know how to express yourself, both verbally and in writing. Writing photography promotes visual literacy and writing into a program that interconnects photo-based image making with a variety of writing techniques to improve self expression. The power of photography and writing are combined so that participants learn to tell their story or the story of the world around them. Workshop participants are given the opportunity to create images of self, family, community, dreams, and the environment. These images then serve as the catalyst for written works. Please go to the Workshop Contents for further information or to register for these popular workshops. ~ DAWNE FAHEY ~ Dawne Fahey was born in Melbourne and lives in Sydney. Dawne combines her formal training in photography with her training and experience in psychology, health, linguistics and art to practise as a professional photographer and photo-artist. Dawne's practise employs themes of emotions, movement, place and time, mixed with images of people, culture, history and landscape, that occur in every day life.
